For anybody encountering problems.. The drag and drop uploader uses newer version of JAVA and probably the machine you are using not upgraded...or browser older e.g. IE6 or Firefox 2
To avoid problems the best thing is to go to bottom of drag and drop page where there is this statement
Having problems with the bulk photo uploader? Return to our simple uploader.
The simple loader takes a few moments to appear but far easier to use hope this helps

I have set photo and video upload to 'moderated' NOT
because content editing but because this free service has a space limit. Most photos will be OK ( for now we limiting to 30 until we know how much space is being used up) but if people submit 100MB (the limit) videos three at a time we will soon have passed that limit.
